True Blood

I used to be a huge fan of HBO's series. When the Sopranos, Sex and the City and Six Feet Under ended I lost interest in HBO. I switched over to Showtime. Then I started to hear about a new show called True Blood. It caught my interest because it is written and directed by Allan Ball. I love Allan Ball! He created Six Feet Under and I loved that show. Well, I did a little research into the show and discovered that it is based on a series of books. I went to the Library and checked out the first book, Dead Until Dark. I made it my mission to read the book before the show premiered. I finished the book and loved it. I was drawn to the humor of the book. I could see how Allan Ball could made a series out of this book.

Let me give a summary of what the series is about. The main character is Sookie Stackhouse. The setting of the series is Louisiana. Two years ago Vampires came "out of the coffin." They became legal citizens. This was made possible by a Japanese company that figured out how to make synthetic blood. A vampire, Bill, finally comes to Sookie's small town. At the same time a murder occurs in this samll town. Sookie's brother becomes the prime suspect.

I know this is a very general description, but I do not want to give anything away. I watched the show and was not very sure about it in the begining. It was a little wierd. By the end of the show I was definately interested. I had to dvr the next episode and I am planning to watch it tonight and I will let you know.
